As a receptionist you should have previous experience with a hotel booking system such as Guestline/Rezlynx and also knowledge of OTA's would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
You will be working 5 shifts out of 7 on a rota basis and these will include evenings and weekends. Own transport is required due to our location.

Lynford Hall is a Grade 2 listed Mansion set in 27 acres of grounds in the heart of Thetford Forest. The hotel lends itself to a variety of uses for corporate clients such as board meetings, product launches seminars, social evenings, retirement functions, AGM's for up to 300 people. The grounds are ideal for outdoor activities such as clay pigeon shooting, quad bikes etc. The outside terrace is useful for barbeques in the summer months. Car parking is adequate and can park 200 cars.
There are four main function areas within the hotel including one purpose built conference centre (built 1999) which can seat 300 for a sit down meal and has its own bar and toilets. The other rooms are within the main hotel, each having their own character and charm.
We have a full programme of events throughout the year which encompasses tribute nights, discos, murder mystery and of course christmas party nights.
We are looking for a passionate and talented Sales Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background preferably from a hospitality background with prior knowledge of hotels and will have an understanding of the operational aspect of the business.
You will be comfortable working within a small team where everyone has an input into the running of the business. You should be brimming with new ideas on how we can increase turnover into the hotel whilst keeping an eye on costings and profitablity. Building successful relationships and confidence will be key in this role, being at hand to "meet and greet" the day of their event will be essential.
A creative mind is also required for producing advertisments for local press, flyers and also updating the website.
You will be adept in securing new business for the hotel and will be responsible for promoting the facilities to prospective clients and upselling at every opportunity
The position will involve a high level of telephone communication to obtain those vital leads, these will be followed up by a client visit and presentation or a show round at the hotel.
We require a sales professional with at least three years experience in the role who can communicate on all levels. This person will be confident in delivering excellent customer service and work calmly under pressure.
You should be hungry to go out and about and find new business in the local area whilst maintaining excellent relationships with our existing customers.
